Introducing parents to Coffee With
Parents are one of the strongest influences on what a young person believes is possible, and most are working from their own experience of the workplace twenty or thirty years ago. Telling them what the school is using, and why, gives them something current to talk about at home.
You can adapt this wording for an email or newsletter communication:
Dear Parents, Carers, and Guardians,
This term we're using a new careers platform called Coffee With. It helps young people explore the world of work through real stories and career guidance – video conversations with people from all kinds of jobs talking honestly about what they do, how they got there, and what they wish they'd known earlier.
Unlike traditional careers resources, these aren't polished recruitment videos. They're architects, nurses, software engineers, chefs, and lawyers sharing genuine insight into their working lives, so young people can make more informed choices about their futures.
Students will have access to Coffee With through their school email address but you're welcome to explore it too. You can browse the videos alongside your child, or take a look independently with one of the following links:

If your child comes home talking about a job you've never heard of, that's probably a good sign. One of the best things we can do is help young people discover work that genuinely interests them – the kind of career they'll find fulfilling, not just tolerable. That journey starts with knowing what's out there.
